Awesome work here. I’m a long time anime fan, and I’ve always had a really hard time coming to terms with this problem. The attitude a lot of attendees have has basically barred me from investing time into things like cons that I might otherwise enjoy a lot. Like you said, it’s confusing that these kinds of shows can be so empowering to minority groups at times, but that the culture around them isn’t yet.
